Hastings Model Flying Club are pleased to announce that we have decided to open up our club membership. Come and join one of the most successful model flying clubs in the area. We have our own site located on the A259, Marsh Road, East Sussex, it is beautifully maintained by our own members, if you need it we have our own club trainer aircraft available, and club instructors to take you from newcomer to accomplished flyer.

12th – 13th August 2017 North Yorkshire Elvington Model Air Show 2017
  Elvington Airfield, Halifax Way, Elvington, North Yorkshire, YO41 4AU One of the largest model shows of the year. Come and see some of the best pilots from throughout the UK and Europe. Show runs from 10am til 5pm each day (gates open at 8.30am with last entry at 4pm).

Camping will be allowed on the airfield from Friday until Monday. On-site camping (for the weekend) £45 on the gate and £40 in advance.

Adults £10 and children under 16 free when accompanied by an adult.

12th – 13th August 2017 West Midlands Greenacres August Fly In
  Aldridge Airport, Aldridge, West Midlands. Entrance from Bosty Lane at WS9 0QQ Camping and caravan pitches available, free of charge but donations welcome. Campers and caravaners should arrive AFTER 1pm on the Friday at the earliest and leave by 6pm on the Sunday evening. Water tank filling is available, no power feeds available. Generators in reasonable hours.

Visiting pilots pay £5 per day to fly. Public and spectators are free!

12th August 2017 Kent Bickley MFC Car Boot Swap Meet
  Bickley MFC flying field Church Road Sutton at Hone, Kent, DA4 9EX. Latitude: 51.4085 Longitude: 0.22 From 11am to 3pm.

Another chance to finally clear out some of the Models, engines and other modelling equipment you have not used for ages and to pick up a bargain at the same time. Open to all with a £5 charge to non BMFC members. Selling only from designated pitches for each vehicle you will need to supply your own display table.

Toilets on site. Free access also to food facilities and toilets at the gun club down the lane.

This popular event has been running for many years and as usual is open to all scale model aircraft and is an off-the-peg relaxed day.

18th – 20th August 2017 Warwickshire Festival at Flight
  Ragley Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire, B49 5NJ This wonderful location offers a unique venue for this new venture which we anticipate will quickly become the home for the premier UK late summer show on site camping from Thursday till Monday.

Booked to participate are many famous international flyers from the UK and Europe as well as the amazing Richard Goodwin with his full size Pitts Special which will guarantee to give the event that special Wrekin MFC Touch plus the Glider FX team will be there all weekend.

Running concurrent with the air display but on different parts of the park there will be the Helifest model helicopter competition and display, Quad / First Person View Racing, a large Boating Regatta on the eight acre lake and Model Car Racing.

Saturday evening featuring lazar lights  fireworks and light show prepare to be dazzled quad and FPV fair will be hosted by the FPV league.

A large trade participation is anticipated as well as a swap meet.

12th September 2017 Hampshire Indoor R/C FPV Meeting
  Wickham Community Centre, Mill Lane, Wickham, Hants, PO17 5AL All meetings will run from 7.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. This is the venue at which we hold our popular indoor R/C Small Models meetings. Admission to the meetings will be £4 for fliers and £1 for spectators, whilst accompanied children will be admitted free. Junior fliers will be charged as adult spectators. Fliers will be required to show proof of insurance.

Models to be flown at these meetings are to be limited to a maximum weight of 95 grammes (3.5 ounces), in flight trim, including battery (not to exceed a 2-cell Li-Po pack). Helicopters are to be limited to a rotor diameter of 6” (152mm). Multicopters are to have a motor to motor diameter not exceeding 6” (152mm).

All models should be 25mW 5.8GHz or Wi-Fi FPV equipped. A frequency control system will be employed whereby each pilot will be allocated a video operating band, to guarantee frequency separation a maximum of 4 pilots will be permitted to transmit at any one time. Each model will need to be checked and a transmitter tag allocated before being cleared to fly.

Depending on the number of FPV models ready to fly there may be an opportunity to fly non-FPV equipped models.

Flying at these events will take place generally in accordance with our procedures developed at the regular indoor R/C events, details of which are available on our website.

22nd – 24th September Gwynedd Lleyn Model Aero Club Bring and Fly

Come and join us at our annual event. This year is our 30th anniversary and once again we invite one and all to the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula in North West Wales. Come and experience our fantastic club flying site and brilliant slope sites. It is always very popular with flyers and spectators alike we have on site refreshments.
 
Camping and caravaning including static caravan hire at site adjacent to us there is also a cafe and bar on site serving food and drink day and night and where we get together on Saturday night.

8th October 2017 Hampshire SAM 35 Vintage RC and Control Line Fly-In
  Middle Wallop Army Airfield, Hampshire.

All are welcome. Please note that there will no freeflight and that only 2.4GHz is permitted.

No BMFA Certs are needed, but current membership of the BMFA is mandatory, so please have your Membership Cards with you. There may be “Tomboy” duration competitions, provided there is enough support. Control-line activities will include the “Bee Bug Bash” and other events, plus sport flying.

The gate will open at 9.30am. NOTE THAT ENTRY TO THE AIRFIELD WILL NOT BE FROM THE USUAL MUSEUM CAR PARK – VISIT www.sam35.org/events FOR DIRECTIONS.
