Flying slots are now 3 hours and 3 flyers can be accepted in any one slot. The following slots are available:-
9.00am to 12.00pm
12.00pm to 3.00pm.
3.00pm to 6.00pm.
6.00pm to 9.00pm.
At the committee meeting held on Wednesday 3rd June at Outwell the committee discussed the format for opening the flying field to a greater number of flyers and still complying with the Government guide lines. It was decided we could have four x three hour slots with a maximum of six pilots in each, the field will be open from 9-00am to 9-00pm. Slots to be booked by contacting Brian Ball. This was voted on and passed by the committee.
As there could be up to twenty four people using the starting tables in any one day it was suggested that models could be started in the pits area, each member using their own equipment including a suitable model restraint. This way we would be complying with the guide line of not using communal club equipment. Please take great care when carrying live models to the flight line.
Revised time slots now give extended time per slot – (3 hours instead of 2 hours) plus extra capacity – (3 flyers in any one time slot, each of whom can bring a member of their household). So a maximum of 6 flyers within each 3 hour slot.
That equals 24 x 3 hour slots available per day, this will keep us in line with Government guidelines. Bookings are essential to avoid wasted journeys & disappointment on arrival. Also it allows a check on who has actually attended the field should any member be contacted through the Track & Trace scheme. As the current situation is dynamic and ever changing these guidelines will be reviewed periodically.
Please check and book with Chairman Brian between 9.00am and 6.00pm. Please be considerate and respect that this is additional work for Brian.
Please respect social distancing and use Personal Protective Equipment.
As mentioned earlier, if you want to fly with your friends, that’s possible. Explain your request to Brian.
It may be difficult to help beginners and trainees at the moment because handling and setting up models even of a wireless buddy requires handling of model and transmitter by both trainee and trainer. So this may take a little longer before we can work out a safe procedure!
